Sorensensistem™ Facial Reflex Therapy with Mariko Hiyama
Sorensensistem™ Facial Reflex Therapy is a concept combining oriental medicine, needleless acupuncture techniques (Zone Therapy) and neuro-anatomy.
This is a modern and effective therapeutic method, which is carried out with hands and stimulates reflex points and zones on the face and the scalp. The therapy helps tackle dis- ease within the body and balance the organs and systems such as endocrine, lymphatic and circulatory. The ultimate effect of the Sorensensistem™ Facial Re ex therapy is to enhance our own natural balancing & healing mechanisms in our body and mind.
Mariko, a qualified Sorensensistem™ Therapist and Instructor, is able to assess the state of each client by touching refex zones and analyzing conditions of tissues on the face. Based on this initial analysis Mariko works on reflex zones, meridians and neurological points on the face. As a result, the Central Nervous System and the blood circulation in the whole body are stimulated and the flow of energy becomes smooth. As the therapy can target improvement of hormonal and endocrine systems, positive changes can be noted not only in the body but also in the emotional state. It helps improving conditions such as anxietry, mental exhaustion, memory loss, insomnia and many more. Sorenstein™ Facial Reflex Therapy may also help relieve chronic/acute pain.
There is no contra-indication for this therapy, however, guests who are prone to develop herpes or infectious conditions on the face and the scalp might not be able to receive a complete reflex therapy or may be asked to refrain from therapy sessions until the breakout disappears – this is in order to avoid a risk of spreading the infection to others as a therapist uses bare hands for therapy sessions. Mariko is originally from Fukuoka, located in the Southern Island of Japan, Kyushu.
Mariko’s interest in natural healing methods and reflexology was set when she was a little girl by receiving therapeutic massages from her grandmother and by meeting Japanese Chi Masters. Ever since, she has been witnessing the healing power of Traditional Chinese Medicines, Chi Gong, Acupuncture, Acupressure, Ayurveda, Reflexology and other natural healing methods through her own experiences.
Mariko always wished to work with her hands for people as she became more aware of the meaning behind of a Japanese word of “Treating/Healing People”. She is grateful to have found her life-work as a Facial Reflexologist. For the past 5 years, she has worked with a awards-received wellness facility in Europe and also served many guests from all over the world. She is currently working as an in-house Facial Reflexologist at one of the most respected alternative medicine centers in Hong Kong, Integrated Medicine Institute (IMI). She is also running her own private therapy studio in the heart of Hong Kong.
Mariko holds certificates of Sorensensistem™ Facial Re ex Therapy for Dementia, Alzheimer and Parkinson Patients as well as for Diabetes Patients. Between her works as a Facial Reflexologist, Mariko leads various Yoga classes as an instructor. Her daily ritual is practicing Qi Gong and playing crystal-singing bowls as moving meditations. She also enjoys heart-warming food, music, arts and traveling. She holds BA in Economics and Master in Entrepreneurship & Innovation. She has worked in the banking & insurance industry across Asia and Europe.
Guests should be made aware that there might be “reverse conditions” after the first couple of sessions. “Reverse condition” is one of typical signs that your body is trying to detox and it is a manifestation of healing process. Typical reverse conditions with the Sorensensistem™ therapy are headache, thirstiness, change in frequency of toilette usage (change of colours in urine/stool could happen), breakouts on the face/body, light fever, and/or fatigue. Some people might experience a mood swing as it is a process which supports emotional toxins release as well. These symptoms will diminish within 2-3 days as you continue to receive the therapy. If you have any medications prescribed by physicians, please do not stop taking them until further physicians’ advice.
