Holistic Living…Getting Back to Basics
When you embrace a healthy lifestyle, you not only feel the benefits now but you also reduce your risk of disease and increase your health in the future. And a healthy lifestyle begins with the basics – proper nutrition and exercise. Karina Stewart, Kamalaya Koh Samui Co-founder and Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine, explains, “I know the basics are not as exciting, because we all think well: “I've heard that before, I know that.” But knowing it is not the same as doing it. Knowing it is not the same as living it. Doing it once in a while and then reverting back to our old habits: That's not living it. What I'm talking is really incorporating these changes, these healthful changes into our daily life”.
Karina Stewart on Women’s Health
“It is wonderful to see that modern women have so many options to express their personality, with multiple career opportunities and life choices, as well as a caring mother, family member and friend”, says Karina Stewart, Kamalaya Koh Samui Co-founder and Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine. “At the same time, as natural care-givers, a self-neglect with regard to our own needs is very common. I think it’s important to make women aware how vital it is to look after themselves”. In this video, Karina shares some practical self-care tips for women at different stages of their lives.
An Optimal Approach to Weight Loss and the Role of Detoxification
Losing kilos is at the top of the wish list for many people thinking about a detox, and while it is usually one of the results, it’s not the goal, and what you gain from a detox is much more impressive than what you lose. Karina Stewart explains how a well researched detox program, one that doesn’t involve fasting, can set the foundation for better weight control in the long term.
Healthy Lifestyle Programs
For optimal wellbeing, it is important that we embrace a healthy lifestyle that incorporates the basic foundations of good nutrition and appropriate exercise. Many of us are aware that we need to make lifestyle changes, but many of us also need some help and support, and perhaps even some education, before we're able to implement the changes into our daily life. Karina Stewart, Kamalaya Koh Samui Co-founder and a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine, talks about Kamalaya Koh Samui's Healthy Lifestyle programs, which take a foundation approach by dealing with weight loss, nutrition and fitness to help people start their journey into vital vibrant health.
Comprehensive Optimal Fitness Program
Physical activity is foundational for our overall health, vitally and wellbeing. However, our contemporary lifestyle has become extremely sedentary so we now have to consciously make an effort to integrate physical activity and exercise into our daily routines. With its state-of-the-art fitness centre and a new “Comprehensive Optimal Fitness Pogram” launching soon, Kamalaya supports guests to do this in a sustainable and most beneficial way.
The focus of the Sleep Enhancement program is to re-establish healthy and restful sleep while addressing sleep issues and imbalances, not only during a guest's time at Kamalaya, but also for the long term back home. Sleep difficulties are addressed through a combination of core treatments and therapies drawing from naturopathy, Traditional Chinese Medicine, massage therapy and mind-body balance.
Emotional balance is a vital ingredient for personal wellbeing and the health of our relationships, including the essential one we have with ourselves. Reactions and responses to everyday situations, our decision-making abilities are heavily influenced by our emotional framework. Karina Stewart explains why nowadays it is so difficult to stay connected to our own emotions and reveals powerful techniques to stay emotionally balanced. Especially dedicated to creating emotional balance is Kamalaya’s latest wellness program “Embracing Change”.
Embracing Change Program
The Embracing Change program is the first of Kamalaya’s wellness programs to focus on exploring one’s inner life and emotional disposition. This is an ideal program to enrich your emotional wellbeing and life fulfillment. The focus throughout the program is to explore one’s emotional habits and address current life situations with effective tools to restore emotional balance.
