Physiotherapy session

Physiotherapy helps restore movement and function when someone is affected by injury, infirmity or disability. Our expert team will evaluate your condition including alignment and movement restrictions to provide you with techniques and tools to regain range of motion, relief from pain and offer the necessary tools to correct the musculature imbalances. During this session you will also learn self care essential to support you on your path toward recovery.

Myofascial Release Therapy

Myofascial release (MFR) therapy focuses on releasing muscular shortness and tightness. There are a number of conditions and symptoms that myofascial release therapy addresses. Many seek myofascial treatment after losing flexibility or function following an injury or if experiencing ongoing back, shoulder, hip, or virtually any pain in any area containing soft tissue. Techniques such as gradual pressure on fascia helps to regular muscle tone, assist in pain management as well as improve overall joint movement. Other conditions treated by myofascial release therapy include, carpal tunnel syndrome, or possibly fibromyalgia or migraine headaches.

Stretching

This important part of any fitness program is so often neglected. Our instructors will teach you how to stretch each part of the body using correct technique for maximum results

Super Stretching

This treatment focuses on stretching the muscles, with a clear understanding of physiology and anatomy. The assisted stretches and strong pressure combine aspects of Thai Massage and Yoga to help to relieve muscular tension and promote circulation, warming up the body prior to exercising. This treatment is also an ideal follow-up to a yoga or exercise practice to improve muscle flexibility

Pilates (Mat or Reformer)

Progress through a series of exercises designed to use your core whilst strengthening and stretching your muscles through small movements that lead to big results.

Revival Exercise

Our Physiotherapist will begin with an analysis of your muscles and posture to create a customized exercise regime to ensure you train ‘smart’ and not hard, as good exercise does not need to be painful. Methods focusing on the deep essential muscle movements, core conditioning, Pilates and other equipment are used to ensure you have enhanced core stability to support your specific condition.

Holistic Practices: Group or Private Classes

Qi Gong

Qi Gong, ‘Vital Force - Energy Cultivation’, is based on ancient Chinese wisdom that promotes states of vibrant health physically, mentally, and spiritually. Gentle movements, breathing practices, and meditation are all combined to increase vitality and bring about internal harmony

Tai Chi

Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese discipline for health, relaxation, and meditation. Using gentle movements in combination with breathing, Tai Chi is great to release tension, maintain and enhance suppleness and tone, and promote a heightened integration of body, mind, and spirit

Yoga

Yoga is a way of life based on ancient Indian philosophy, a way of integrating your whole being so that all aspects of your life work in harmony. Yoga is a complete system for living life and for conscious evolution, thus helping to create balance in your life whilst creating a flexible mind, body and soul. Physical postures, breath, and meditation are the primary aspects of this practice. A variety of Yoga styles are taught at Kamalaya and our instructors will ensure that sessions are appropriate to your level and goals.
