Tai Chi retreats in Thailand

Visiting Practitioner at Kamalaya
Luo Mei Juan - Tai Chi Master

Tai Chi retreats Thailand Koh Samui "Nothing under the sky, is softer and weaker than Water, But to overcome what is hard and strong, Nothing can prevail it." - Tao Te Ching

Through Tai Chi, the weak can overcome the strong (Tai Chi Philosophy). The example often used is that of water overcoming rocks. One of the main qualities that we try to develop trough Tai Chi is therefore fluidity. This fluidity implies other qualities like quietness, relaxation, flexibility, coordination, roundness, softness and awareness. All the qualities listed above are cultivated during a form where the moves are linked in a continuous, slow, soft and round way.

Tai Chi is both :

  • a meditation as one as to be constantly present in his moves,
  • and a Qigong as the softness, roundness and constant opening and closing of the body, combined with the presence of the mind, highly stimulate the Qi circulation.

Master Luo has more than 10 years of experience teaching Tai Chi to students from around the world. She operates the Long Tou Shan Martial Arts School in Yangshuo, China, formerly known as the Wu Wei Center.

From her youngest days with her father, a Kung Fu master, Mei has loved the martial arts. But because her father is very traditional, he refused to teach his skills to a girl. So as soon as she was old enough, she went to study under Fu Neng Bin, in Nanning, and later with Chen Zheng Lei, of the actual Chen family. Chen Zheng Lei is recognized by the government as one of the ten great martial arts masters of China.

In Chen village Mei was certified as a Tai Chi master. Now she has practiced Tai Chi for more than 20 years.
At the elite competition in Zhengzhou, China, an annual, nationwide meeting, Mei has won two bronze and one silver medal, and she has won a gold medal in the Guangxi competition. She also regularly gives demonstrations and presentations at public events.
