A mandala is a symbol of the perfection and harmony of the universe. The most familiar mandalas are circular, geometrical forms found in Tibetan Buddhism, however they also exist in different cultures and forms.

In Paul's words a mandala represents an ancient, sacred pattern: "All of reality has a pattern, and the patterns are ours to understand if we have the courage and insight to open up and look. All we seek-peace, love, health, happiness, all that is real-can be ours through this understanding."

This workshop offers the opportunity to explore the mandala and the mystery of painting large mandalas, still life or landscape painting. Music, film and ritual will be used to enhance the creative aspect of this workshop.
