“I wish to provide a moment to pause and reflect on the wonder and grace in the dreamlight of daily life.”
Sandy Shum will exhibit impressionistic photography from her book, "Dreaming of Prayer Flags: Stories and Images from Bhutan.” Written by Bhutanese author Karma Singye Dorji, the book opens a stunning portal into the heart of the cloistered Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan. Karma’s stories are tender and intimate, and Sandy’s images of the country are filled with color, light and movement. The stories and images blend luminously to unveil grand Himalayan vistas, spiritually resonant festivals, and the unhurried rhythms of village life. The Bhutan series was photographed between 1994-2007, Sandy lived in Bhutan from 1994-1998.
International artist Sandy Shum was born in California and has lived in Asia for nearly two decades.
