  Healthy Cooking with Kamalaya: Detox Broth  
 

Healthy Detox Broth Cuisine

Serves 2
If you’re embarking on a home detox program, having a daily bowl – or even three - of this deeply flavoured and nutritious broth will help to alkalise your body. It is very gentle on the digestive system and full of vitamins and minerals. Also a great option when you’re sick or to keep the hunger pangs at bay if you’re trying to loose weight.


Ingredients    
Vegetable stock*, 175 ml
Bok choy, ¼ cup
Kale, ¼ cup
Zucchini, ½ medium size
Asparagus, ¼ cup
Carrot, 1/6 cup
Wakame, 2 tsp
Sea salt, ½ gram

Note: you don’t need to restrict yourself to these vegetables. Use the freshest varieties that you can find, and organic if possible. You should aim for mostly green vegetables and avoid night shade varieties such as potatoes, eggplant, tomatoes and capsicum, especially if you’re detoxing. You can also add fresh herbs, like basil and coriander.


Method
Place all the ingredients in a saucepan.
Bring to the boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 3 - 4 minutes.
Season with sea salt.
Strain the liquid and serve.
