Workshop
The origin of Life is sound and light. Beneath the surface, every one of us is composed of frequencies and vibrations. When we lose connection with the harmonies that keep us healthy, we must go in search of therapy – music therapy.
This is why we invite you to come and learn the basics of playing the Tibetan sound bowls with Winfried Rode, a sound and music therapist who has been teaching Buddhist philosophy and meditation for more than 20 years.
The unique power of the Tibetan sound bowls leads the listener to a satisfying state of deep relaxation and wellbeing. You may find the music draws out suppressed emotions in you, and that you find yourself in a state of joy and inner peace.
Used as a therapeutic treatment, the singing bowls promote healing for conditions such as a broken heart, depression, cardiac troubles, drug abuse, insomnia, muscle tension, rheumatism and tinnitus, and can also be beneficial for pregnant women and babies.
Winnie is based in Koh Samui but serves regularly in his native Germany as a body guard to the Dalai Lama. His education as a teacher began in a Tibetan monastery, where he was a monk of the Mahayana tradition. He completed the traditional studies and exams to become a teacher of Buddhist Philosophy. Today, he is a Buddhist Yogi and his teachings are mainly based on the Dzogchen tradition.
Winnie has many students and teaches primarily in Germany, India, Thailand, and Hong Kong. He is also the author of three books about traditional Tibetan Medicine and the Land and Culture of Tibet and Bhutan.
