Exhibition features exceptional painter and devout Buddhist Aung Kyaw Htet. The artist was born in 1965 in Myaungmya and studied at the State School of Fine Arts in Rangoon. He has also participated in several exhibitions in Burma, Thailand (2002, 2004, 2005), Singapore (2003) and Hong Kong (2003, 2004) and Taiwan (2006), and his works are in the permanent collections of the National Art Gallery of Malaysia and the National Museum of Myanmar [Burma]. The artist paints about religious life in Burma and his beautiful oil paintings depict monks and nuns in a realistic manner. He uses bright colors and blends together reds, pinks and oranges against plain but mystical backdrops. His composition is remarkable and he paints with ample feeling. The faces of monks and nuns are painted in great detail to show their humanity. These paintings are peaceful and deeply rooted in heritage and tradition. They are also extremely beautiful.
