Spa Retreat Of The Year - AsiaSpa Awards
For the second consecutive year Kamalaya Wellness Sanctuary & Holistic Spa was awarded “Spa Retreat of The Year” at the eighth edition of the AsiaSpa Awards in Hong Kong last night. With a short-list of nominees including Bali’s Como Shambhala, Thailand’s Chiva-Som, and Australia’s Gwinganna, Kamalaya is extremely honored to receive this accolade again.

The award for “Spa Retreat of The Year” rounds off a successful year for Kamalaya, winning Destination Spa of The Year Asia and Australasia at The World Spa Awards in London before receiving “Favourite Spa in Thailand” at the SpaFinder Readers Choice Awards this October in New York.

Favourite Spa in Thailand - SpaFinder Wellness Readers’ Choice Award
For the third time since the awards were launched, Kamalaya received the 2012 SpaFinder Wellness Readers’ Choice Country Award as “Favourite Spa in Thailand”.  Nominated by consumers and travel agents who vote annually in the Readers’ Choice Poll,  the SpaFinder Wellness Readers’ Choice awards honor the best-of-class properties from around the globe. Kamalaya was also delighted to be recognized as among the Best Eco-Spa, Best for Accommodations, Best for Weight Loss, and Best for Yoga.

Destination Spa of the Year Asia & Australasia - World Spa Awards
Kamalaya was honoured with the award for Destination Spa of the Year: Asia & Australasia at the World Spa awards hosted in London on 4th March 2012.

The resort faced exceptional competition from across the world and was shortlisted alongside three other finalists in the Asia & Australasia region. An expert panel of 7 international judges selected the finalists during a vigorous process including two site visits per application, from both an “official” judge and a “mystery” judge.

The final winners in each category were selected for best practice, excelling in client service with a well researched and comprehensive menu of treatments, high quality training and having a point of difference from the opposition through implementation of innovative ideas amongst other criteria.

Gold Award for Thematic Idea & Culture and a Silver Award for Green, Nature & Environment - Thailand Boutique Awards
Kamalaya was given a Gold Award for Thematic Idea & Culture and a Silver Award for Green, Nature & Environment at the Thailand Boutique Awards 2011 in Bangkok. The Thailand Boutique Award recognises small hotel establishments in Thailand with individual and unique character and flair, whilst providing world-class services and facilities. As a result Kamalaya is listed in the Thailand Boutique Hotels 2011-12 guide.

Spa Retreat of the Year and Spa Cuisine of the Year - AsiaSpa Awards
Kamalaya was delighted to receive two awards at the 7th annual AsiaSpa awards in Hong Kong: Spa Retreat of the Year and Spa Cuisine of the Year. This is the second award for cuisine which Kamalaya has won in as many months and the fourth year in a row in which Kamalaya has been honoured at these prestigious awards.

Best Conscious Cuisine – Crystal Awards Asia Pacific
Kamalaya received the award for Best Conscious Cuisine at the 2011 Crystal Awards Asia Pacific in Singapore. The award was collected by Kamalaya General Manager, Clive McNish.

‘We are honoured to receive this prestigious award’, said Clive. ‘At Kamalaya, cuisine is an integral part of our holistic wellness concept. Our varied and extensive menus offer dishes that are both healing and delicious. We aim to show our guests that healthy food does not need to be boring and hope that our guests feel inspired to continue eating healthily when they return home.’

Kamalaya Koh Samui wins Prime Minister’s Export Award 2011 ‘Best Service Provider: Spa’
We are delighted to share the news that Kamalaya has just been named ‘Best Service Provider – Spa’ at the annual Prime Minister’s Export Award 2011 ceremony in Bangkok, Thailand.

The annual Prime Minister’s Export Award was initiated in 1992 and is the Thai government’s highest official award. It is granted to outstanding Thai exporters of products and services, showcasing and acknowledging their top quality and high standards.

“We honour the very best that we have – our best exporters, manufacturers, producers and service providers – for their commitment to excellence and especially their exemplary achievements”, said Her Excellency H.E. Ms. Yingluck Shinawatra, the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand.

SpaFinder, the global spa resource, granted Kamalaya acclamation for 5 awards. SpaFinder announced that not only had Kamalaya won the prestigious Readers’ Choice Award for “Favourite Spa in Thailand”, but also four other awards in the categories of “Best Cuisine”, “Best for Mind-Body-Spirit”, “Best Interior Design”, “Best for Weight Loss”.

Kamalaya was named Best Complementary & Alternative Medicine Wellness Centre in both the sixth and seventh annual Crystal Awards Asia Pacific for 2009 and 2010.

Award for Enduring Excellence - TATLER Spa Awards 2010
At the fourth annual TATLER UK Spa Awards celebration, Kamalaya was honoured as the recipient of one of five awards worldwide. This award honours Kamalaya Wellness Sanctuary and Holistic Spa for its outstanding consistency in maintaining the highest standards of excellence since its conception in 2005, and is the first time that it has been recognised at this esteemed gathering.

Award of Outstanding Performance for Health Tourism Destination Spa - Tourism of Thailand (TAT)
Karina and John Stewart, accompanied by Dr.Pipadh Eksaengrsi, were amongst long-standing friends and supporters of the Thai tourism industry as they were conferred this prestigious award organised by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) on 27th September, 2010, in Bangkok. This marks the first award received by Kamalaya from the TAT.

Karina Stewart, co-founder of Kamalaya Wellness Sanctuary and Holistic Spa, was named Spa Personality of the Year at the AsiaSpa Awards 2009.

Kamalaya Koh Samui has been selected as a multiple winner in the 7th annual SpaFinder Readers’ Choice Awards including the coveted “Crystal” Award for spa-goers’ Favourite Spa in Asia & Favourite Spa in Thailand. Kamalaya also won the award for Favourite Spa in Thailand and was named as one of the “Top Ten Worldwide Listings for Best Mind-Body-Spirit, Best Medical Program, Best for Weight Loss and Best for Yoga” categories.

Best Wellness Retreat – The Crystal Awards Asia Pacific
Koh Samui, Thailand... Kamalaya Koh Samui, the Wellness Sanctuary and Holistic Spa, was the winner of the Best Wellness Retreat category in the 2008 Spa Asia Crystal Awards. The awards were announced at the Wellness Summit Gala Dinner in Kuala Lumpur on 16 October, which was attended by over 220 industry people and media.

Kamalaya was one of 8 finalists in the category, which included wellness destinations from Asia and one from Australia. This was the first year that Kamalaya, which opened in November 2005, had entered the awards.
